Please meet five of our working dog partnerships who completed their training during a graduation ceremony held at S A Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind (GDA) on 17 September 2017.

Hannelie Strydom from Horizon View, Roodepoort, with Guide Dog Arial, a black female Labrador;

Chante Steadman from Uitenhage, Eastern Cape, with Guide Dog Bonnie, a yellow Labrador cross Golden Retriever;

Annamaria Nemostothy from Krugersdorp with Guide Dog Bronte, a yellow female Labrador cross Golden Retriever;

Ian Carstens from Upington with Guide Dog Astra, a black female Labrador; and

Kelby Engelbrecht from North Riding with Service Dog Zorro, a yellow male Labrador.

Many of our supporters, service clubs, volunteers, friends and relatives of the qualifying working dog owners witnessed this very special ceremony.  As a token of appreciation for their support, certificates were presented to Service Clubs, corporates and individuals to acknowledge their support.  GDA’s Chairman, Nigel Unwin, presented each working dog owner with their harness/jacket to signify that they have graduated.  Graduates also received a bag of dog food, generously sponsored by Bob Martin.

We would like to congratulate each and everyone who played a part in the raising, training and sponsoring of these working dogs. We are confident that they will be conquering the world with their differently-abled companions.
