The Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon took place on 15 April 2017. We had 50 runners participating under the Team Guide Dogs banner in the half marathon where we had charity entries.

Cheryl and Teagan waited with bated breath for our half marathon runners at the finish line where they welcomed them with goodie bags and refreshments. Thank you to Celtic Harriers for providing us with the hospitality area.

Peter Taylor, one of our puppy raisers, did his 30th ultra-marathon and together with Team Guide Dogs raised over R90 000. Three days prior to the race we had a stand at the Expo where we sold our car raffle tickets and toy puppies. Here too despite the economic downturn we were able to raise over R25 000 – an increase on last year’s figures.

Last year we were beneficiaries of the race. This year as a token of our appreciation, we assisted at a water station along the ultra-marathon route. At 02h30 on a cold windy morning we took up our post in Fish Hoek. This was a great experience for us and we were happy that we were able to give back to an organisation that assists so many others.
