Any one who is familiar with the full process of training a guide dog, which takes up to 2 years, and includes its time with the puppy or service dog rearer, can imagine the costs involved.

Add to this the fact that S.A.G.A. accepts full responsibility for a guide dog for its entire life. Furthermore should the owner not be able to cover all the costs for the care of the guide dog, then the Association is prepared to assist financially.

Our suggested sponsorship for the full cost of breeding, rearing and training a Guide dog or Service Dog is R10,000-00. We are extremely grateful when sponsors give us this donation.

Without any government support or funding, money is always an issue.
